Privacy Policy
MemoryPlaces is designed to help Apple Photos users organize their photo libraries by place. Privacy is a core part of the product design.

What MemoryPlaces Does
MemoryPlaces reads photo metadata, including GPS location metadata when available, to help you create and maintain place-based photo albums.
The app is designed to work with your existing Apple Photos library on iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
Photos Stay on Your Device
MemoryPlaces processes your photos and photo metadata locally on your device.
We do not upload your photos to our servers.
We do not copy your photo library.
We do not sell, rent, or share your photos.
In future versions, MemoryPlaces may offer optional cloud-based AI features. If such features are introduced, they will only be used when you explicitly choose to use them.
Location Metadata
MemoryPlaces may read GPS metadata already stored inside your photos.
This location metadata is used to calculate whether a photo belongs inside a place-based album.
MemoryPlaces does not continuously track your location.
If the app offers a "use current location" feature, your current location is used only when you choose that feature.
Photo Library Access
MemoryPlaces requests access to your photo library so it can:
- Read photo metadata
- Detect photo locations
- Create or update albums in Apple Photos
- Add matching photos to albums you create
MemoryPlaces does not intentionally delete your original photos.
Data We Do Not Collect
MemoryPlaces does not collect:
- Your original photos
- Your full photo library
- Advertising identifiers
- IDFA
- Cross-app tracking data
- Precise ongoing location tracking data
Analytics and Diagnostics
During beta testing, MemoryPlaces may use privacy-conscious diagnostics or crash reporting tools to understand app stability and performance.
These tools are used to improve the app and are not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
Third-Party Tracking
MemoryPlaces does not use third-party advertising SDKs.
MemoryPlaces does not use IDFA.
MemoryPlaces does not show App Tracking Transparency prompts because it does not track users across apps or websites.
Children's Privacy
MemoryPlaces is not designed to collect personal information from children.
The app is a general photo organization utility.
Your Choices
You can revoke photo library or location permissions at any time in iOS, iPadOS, or macOS Settings.
You can delete the app at any time. Deleting the app may remove local app configuration data, but it does not delete your original Apple Photos library.
